You Got This!

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
— 2 Timothy 2:15
For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.
— John 1:16
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
— Hebrews 4:16
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
— Philippians 4:13

Alright, Christian creative, we’ve reached the end of this first season of Encouraging Christian Creatives. Hopefully you have been encouraged and have a pocketful of new tools, skills, tricks, and habits to help you navigate this creative life through a Godly lens!

One last encouraging thought before we move on: the word failure takes on a completely different context for a Christian. The dictionary definition doesn’t change, it is what it is, but a failure doesn’t and should never standalone like it does in the secular world. Even in our failures — sometimes especially in our failures — we can bring glory to God. We can repent and/or remain steadfast in our faith, knowing that both the good and the bad that happen to us and because of us can be used to honor Him.

Ultimately, the things of this world will pass away. That doesn’t make them any less valuable or precious. That doesn’t mean we should give up what He has put in front of us and on our hearts to do. He has a purpose for what He has directed us to create; it is all important to His will and bringing the glory and honor to Him. But with the knowledge that the things we do are finite and temporary, we can keep our eyes focused on the eternal Kingdom. We can run the race focused on the prize, not dwell in each and every little step and misstep we take.

With this, you do not have to fear failure! Win or lose in this life by the world’s standards, you have the King of Heaven on your side, watching over and guiding everything that you do. You have a built-in safety net, you have a God and Heavenly Father who loves you, and you have the talents and skills He has given you to get the job done. You can do this!

I want you to remember a few things before we wrap up completely:

  1. You are loved (1 John 4:19).

  2. You were made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27).

  3. God has given your life purpose (Jeremiah 29:11).

  4. Be creative for God (1 Corinthians 10:31).

  5. Resting is essential (Exodus 20:8).

  6. Love your neighbor (Romans 15:2).

  7. Read Scripture (Romans 15:4).

I hope you have enjoyed this encouraging blog post series and pray that you have been encouraged by it! God bless you, Christian creative, and help strengthen you in your talents, projects, and purpose!
