#SumUpSaturday: Idea Generation
This article was original published on July 18, 2020
#SaviorSunday: This week, we'll be talking about creativity in general, and specifically, where our ideas come from. We love creating new things and we know why - it's because God has made humans, in His image, to be creative. Exodus 35: 30-35 speaks of this in a very specific context (i.e. the creation of the Tabernacle) but the general principles here apply to us all:
"30 And Moses said to the children of Israel, “See, the Lord has called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah; 31 and He has filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom and understanding, in knowledge and all manner of workmanship, 32 to design artistic works, to work in gold and silver and bronze, 33 in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and to work in all manner of artistic workmanship. 34 “And He has put in his heart the ability to teach, in him and Aholiab the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan. 35 He has filled them with skill to do all manner of work of the engraver and the designer and the tapestry maker, in blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine linen, and of the weaver—those who do every work and those who design artistic works."
Here at Brainy Pixel, we believe that it is our duty to use our creative gifts, which were given to us BY God, to GLORIFY God. We invite you all to join us as we try to make that happen!
#MotivateMeMonday: #ideageneration - Today's post is all about where ideas come from and we're involving you! Here's the challenge:
Pick a random object or image from a google search and pretend you just received it mysteriously the mail.
Ask yourself these questions about this object: Who owned this object 10 years ago? What happened for it to come to me? How could it change my life? What are the ramifications for owning this object?
Post the image, along your answers in our #FeedbackFriday discussion group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/393953461562715/ and we'll talk on this Friday about how you can take the image and the answers and start a story.
Looking forward to seeing what you'll come up with!
#TeachMeTuesday: We often make #ideageneration too hard. Start simple. Simple ideas stick with us and, when layered well, can become complicated plots/sophisticated storytelling devices later on, but if the core ideas are not simple, you'll lose your audience.
#WowMeWednesday: ideas can come from anywhere! Our COO/CCO, Brannon Hollingsworth, got the idea for this entire novel when he splashed his face with water! - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006OQUHOS/
#TeaseMeThursday: #ideas can come from anywhere! One series we're developing, #divinenine literally came from one off-hand comment in a meeting and a sick night brought on by some bad chicken! Now, it's on its way to being an animated series!
#FollowFriday: We had no takers today for our #FeedbackFriday, so instead we'll post links for some awesome folks who are all about awesome #ideageneration. Be sure and give them a follow!
